This is the first half of the U.S. History course. U.S. History examines significant events in American history beginning with the native cultures prior to European exploration and ending with contemporary political, social, and economic issues. Students learn how geography, war, and industrialization influenced thought and development of the American identity. Themes of exploration, colonization, revolution, nationalism, civil war, reconstruction, industrialization, immigration, progressivism, world wars, economic depression, and foreign policy are introduced.
