This is the second half of the English IV course. British Literature gives students an overview of Britain's literature. Students follow the development of Britain's literature chronologically, discussing the texts as individual works, as representatives of the time period in which they were written, and as a part of a larger historical context. Readings encompass works from medieval to modern times. The major course texts include Beowulf, a Shakespearean tragedy, and a Victorian novel. Required physical course materials will be sent to students enrolling in this course without cost to the student.
