This is the second half of the English II course. English II provides the connection between active reading and writing with a purpose. The skills of rhetoric are covered extensively through literature analysis, writing practice, and model analysis. Short stories, poems, plays, and novels are presented to introduce the concepts of character, setting, plot, point of view, and theme. Style, use of persona, context, and genre are just some of the concepts introduced through reading quality works and writing in response to them.
