This is the second half of the English I course. English I students hone their reading comprehension skills by reading various types of literature&mdashthe short story, the novel, poetry, drama, mythology, newspaper and magazine articles, and speeches. The writing process&mdashpre-writing, drafting, revising, and editing is emphasized with students writing original compositions and analyzing the writing of others. Students learn vocabulary and grammar within the context of the writing and texts studied.
